WHO CAN ATTEND?
The camp is for male and female players between 6 and 18 years of age. Our curriculum caters to all abilities from beginners to elite. Coaches will adapt the skills according to ability.
HOW CAN I REGISTER?
To register for camp, it is mandatory to register online or by email, complete all payments and sign the registration declaration documents prior to the first day. Parents must include a copy of the players passport.
CAN I STILL JOIN THE CAMP IF I HAVEN'T REGISTERED BY DAY 1?
The Camp is designed by the coaches as a 7 days training program and all players must attend day 1.
WHERE IS THE CAMP LOCATED?
The NBA Basketball School camp will take place at Dubai American Academy in Al Barsha, Dubai, next to Al Zahra Hospital.
WHO ARE THE COACHES?
Our Basketball coaching staff are all basketball experts. Coaches include current and former players, high school coaches and NBA Basketball School coaches from overseas. After our successful camp in March, Coach Jeff Christensen will be returning to lead our second camp in June 2019.
HOW ARE PARTICIPANTS SEPARATED DURING CAMP?
Following an initial evaluation, players are grouped by ability to ensure each individual is playing with others of a similar skill level. Players from U12 may be promoted to the over 12 age group, in this case there will be no additional charge to the families however this will be on a case by case basis as per the coaches. The age groups are:
6 – 8 years old, 9 – 11 years old and 12+. NBA Basketball School camps cater for all ability players from beginners through to elite.
DO YOU OFFER PRE OR POST - CAMP CARE?
We do not offer pre or post camp care and encourage parents to ensure players are dropped off and ready to start the program 5 minutes before camp starts and picked up prompt at the end of the session to ensure coaches can start preparing the sports hall for the next session. If parents are running late to pick up from camp please send us a message at the earliest to let us know, we understand these things can happen.
WILL THERE BE A MEDICAL TEAM ON SITE DURING THE PROGRAMME?
Every day we will have a paramedic on site as well as at least one staff member who is fully trained in first aid present at camp. There is also a hospital located right beside the school if we require urgent or further medical attention.
CAN A PLAYER ATTEND WITH A MEDICAL ILLNESS?
If any player has a medical illness, this must be highlighted at the time of registration. Medication which is required to be taken at camp must be labeled clearly with the players full name and given to the manager at camp.
WHAT SHOULD I TAKE TO CAMP?
Players should come dressed in their NBA Basketball School uniform that parents can pick up on allocated timing prior to the first day of camp, and wear comfortable trainers to play basketball. Players should also take a refillable water bottle which can be filled from the numerous water dispensers around the school. No jewellery is allowed (if newly pierced ears please cover with medical tape.) Players with long hair should tie it back.
All valuables should be left at home and not taken to camp. On the occasion a player does take valuables, these will be the sole responsibility of the players and any loss or damage will be the full responsibility of the player and not be the responsibility of NBA Basketball School, Stryx Sports or Dubai American Academy.
WHAT ARE THE CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?
Camp credit will only be issued to players for sickness, to avail a credit note kindly obtain a doctors note and submit to: email@example.com
Once amount is paid, fees are non refundable.
