
Sarah Sutherland
Operations Manager
Sarah has worked in Dubai for the past 9 years, starting her career with establishing a swim school in 2011 before growing the company to include 2 other academies in 2014. Her sporting interest started as a swimmer at the age of 3 and then exploring different sports at school including netball, athletics and hockey. She took an avid interest in helping swimmers to be a better version of themselves and became a qualified swim teacher at the age of 16. Sarah was coaching her own competitive swim squad at 20 and has over 15 years of swimming teaching and coaching experience.
Having been part of the team for NBA Basketball School Camps in the UAE, Sarah is excited to now be working closely with the Technical Team to give parents and players a great experience.

EMMANUEL DIYOKA
Head Coach of the NBA Basketball School, Dubai
After a very successful first year, Coach Manu has been promoted to Head Coach of the NBA School, Dubai. While the on-court NBA programme was on standby in early 2020, Coach Manu developed an online training programme to keep our NBA players active and focused. Additionally, he led character development online sessions which consisted of helping and teaching our players how to be great leaders on and off the court, and learning to manage and cope with their emotions in challenging times.
Born in Belgium, Coach Manu grew up in Brussels. He was part of the player pool and selection process for the U13 Belgian National Team in 1998-99, and was again tabbed for the U20 Belgian National Team selection process in 2004-05. He was a member of the Belgian club team Go Pass Pepinster between 2002 and 2004, and helped the club win the BBC Brussels Division 2 National Championship in the 2004-05 season.
Coach Manu had a very successful career as an Assistant Coach at Saint Leo University (NCAA) from 2014 – 2019. From 2014 – 2016 he was in charge of the skills development for the women’s basketball programme. From 2016 – 2019, he was Assistant Coach for the men’s programme where he was in charge of skills development, scouting reports, organizing practices, coordinating scouting and game plan strategies and mentoring the student athletes.
Coach Manu is excited to continue to grow the NBA Basketball School in Dubai.

JERMELLE FRASER
Coach at the NBA Basketball School, Dubai
Coach Jermelle Fraser, known to the basketball world as Speedy, is originally from New York City and has joined the NBA Basketball School, Dubai in September 2020. Jermelle has a tremendous amount of International experience playing and coaching in several different countries in Europe. While in Sweden with Malbas he lead the U17 and U19 teams where they won Skånes District Championship, and landed in the Final Four of Swedish Championship games. Fraser has also been a part of the NBA Basketball School camps in Turkey. He has spent his summers at Hoop Group Skills Camp, which is recognized in the USA as one of the Nation’s oldest and most respected basketball skill development camps. At Zaza Pachulia Basketball Academy in Georgia, Fraser was the Player Development Coach for National Team players and top players in the Academy. He also helped lead both U18 and U20 squads to Championships. In his last coaching stint, Fraser was at Montverde Academy (FL) where they have boasted four top three NBA draft picks in the past 6 years (Joel Embiid, D’Angelo Russell, Ben Simmons, RJ Barrett) and have won 4 of the last 7 national high school championships. Jermelle will not only bring his player development coaching skills but his ability to build strong relationships to the basketball community in the UAE.

ROSE-ANNE JOLY
Coach at the NBA Basketball School, Dubai
Born in Québec, Canada, Rose-Anne Joly has over ten years of experience in coaching and sports management. She was the Lead Assistant Coach of the women’s basketball programme at the University of Ottawa from September 2017 to August 2020, where her team won the bronze medal at the National Championship in 2019. She was a Toronto Raptors Wayne Embry Fellowship finalist in 2019 and had the chance to volunteer with the Toronto Raptors and the Raptors 905 since.
Joly also had the opportunity to coach at the Provincial Level in Canada. She was an assistant coach for gold medal winning Quebec U15 team in 2016 and the Quebec U17 team that won gold at the Canada Games in 2017. Joly served as the head coach of Quebec’s U14 team in 2017. She was also named the head coach of the U14 Ontario Summer Development Programme in Ottawa in 2019.
Joly is the President and founder of a non-profit called Basket Plus which supports young people living in poverty by building more resilient communities through partnerships between varsity sports teams, the private sector and NGOs.
Joly is looking forward to developing the NBA Basketball School players and is extremely excited to be part of the project.
